Graphic Designer

Sign Specialists are currently looking to recruit a Graphic Designer to join the business development function as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will bring with them a positive, pro-active and engaging approach to an established team. Hours are 9-5, Monday to Friday

The position would likely suit a post-graduate embarking on a career path with a well-known, established and respected sign company.

  • Working with SSL project managers to supply signage visuals for client reference and sign off (ranging from one off bespoke projects through to roll outs and established long standing clients)
  • Understanding of client brand standards to adapt to each signage requirement and manipulate artwork accordingly
  • Update the web site and all social media with latest works, testimonials etc
  • Provide marketing literature when required to help drive new business and increase levels of awareness

The understanding of the following programmes is a pre-requisite but ongoing training to develop and evolve the role will be given.

Website

  • Good knowledge of WordPress
  • Company uses existing Web Page Template that has been modified to suit specific requirements
  • Be able to publish posts/new web pages
  • Basic copyrighting skills
  • Basic Understanding of CSS & HTML
  • Good knowledge of SEO

Social Media

  • Ensure all social media pages are kept as up to date as possible
  • Currently using:
  • Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Looking to increase the use of:
  • Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube & Google +
  • Aim is to increase Likes, Followers & company awareness
  • Keeping up to date with current trends

Design Software

Excellent understanding of:

  • Photoshop CC – Photo manipulation, creation of graphics for web/print
  • Illustrator CC – For creation of company documents. A strong understand of, vector/print ready artwork – an ability to amend customer supplied graphics.
  • CorelDraw (version X3 or newer) – used to produce scheme drawings for customers. An understanding of drawing to scale & photo manipulation.

Good understanding of:

  • Indesign CC – converting customer supplied artwork into various formats.

Basic Understanding of:

  • Lightroom CC
  • After Effects CC – To update company presentation.

Other

  • A good understanding of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint & Excel
  • An understanding of Large Format Print
  • Ability to create, edit & breakdown PDF documents
  • Be able to prioritise workload & handle deadlines.

Fitting Crew

Sign Specialists Ltd are looking to recruit a sign installation crew (lead engineer and fitter’s mate) with proven experience of all aspects of sign and vinyl installation. This is an opportunity to work within a well-established sign company with a strong client base. Applicants should have the following:

  • Experience of installation of signage to a wide variety of substrates.
  • Ability to use your own initiative on site.
  • Good attention to detail with a flexible attitude to work.
  • Awareness of H&S practices.
  • CSCS, IPAF & PASMA certified – Preferred but not essential as training can be arranged.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Flexibility to work locally and nationally, including nights away.

Project Manager

Sign Specialists are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to assist within the sales department to provide support as required

The role encompasses:-

  • Managing one off bespoke projects as well as engaging in larger scale roll outs
  • Raising of quotations as required via our estimating department
  • Issuing of works orders to the factory for manufacturing and providing general admin support
  • Monitoring progress of the project throughout the manufacturing process to meet pre-agreed timelines
  • Site visits when necessary to carry out surveying, face to face client meets and oversee installation
  • Liaise with internal Sign Specialist contacts with regard requirement(s), any changes in specification and ongoing updates with regards project timelines
  • Organising the compilation of visuals/design drawings as necessary for client sign off
  • Represent the sales function on site and be willing to consult directly with the client, ‘upsell’ on product, recommend specification and advise on best and required methods of installation
